Habitudes I: Exploring our habit formation, key decisions, and early influencers

"All our life, so far as it has definite form, is but a mass of habits."
~ William James

Most of the choices we make each day may feel like the products of well-considered decision making, but they’re not. They’re habits. In fact, more than 40% of the actions we perform each day aren’t actual decisions, they’re habits. (Duke University)

Habits shape our lives far more than we realize— they are so strong, in fact, that they cause our brains to cling to them at the exclusion of all else, including common sense. And along the way we develop what I call Habitudes -- those persistent ways of thinking and acting that shape your personal narrative.

The good news? Habitudes can be changed, if we understand how they work. So how do we change these habits that do not serve us? How do we make the shift towards positive thoughts and actions? By exploring, breaking down, and understanding the Habitude process.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • Understanding habit formation and its effect on behavior
  • Identifying habits that serve you and those that do not serve you
  • Examine key decisions that direct your actions
  • Explore core beliefs and the choices that may not be serving you
  • Strategies for releasing those negative thought patterns

This presentation is held online via ZOOM and includes a Q & A session at the end.

"Rita is a gifted speaker with a heart for helping others in their growth process. Her focus on personal fulfillment as a worthwhile goal is refreshing."

~ Laurie Nelson, Attendee, Habitudes 2.0 Workshop
